The recent federal funds freeze has left many organizations and families across the Houston Metropolitan area uncertain about the future. Our hearts go out to our counterparts and colleagues navigating this challenging time and to the families unsure of what lies ahead.
At RaiseUp Families, we are proud to share that as a privately funded organization, our services will continue without interruption. None of our staff, families, or children will face disruptions in employment, housing, or essential support. We are unwavering in our mission to stabilize families on the edge of homelessness, ensuring their children’s education, emotional wellness, and housing remain secure.
However, this crisis underscores the pressing need for action. Families impacted by the freeze are at the brink of losing their stability, and the only barrier between them and the support they desperately need is funding.
That’s why we’re launching a Crisis Campaign to provide immediate support to 50 additional families during this critical time.

These families live paycheck to paycheck and have fallen behind in rent due to an unexpected financial crisis.Â

Our mission is to stabilize families in their homes before an eviction occurs, then provide them with skills and resources to become self-sufficient so their children can focus on their education, giving them the opportunity for a better life. Established in 1994 as Westside Homeless Prevention (and later known as Westside Homeless Partnership), RUF’s founders completed 2 years of research on how best to create life-long stability.Â
